Looking For Stock Symbols

http://en.wikipedia.org
This is another one of my favourite sites. Why do you need to buy those expensive encyclopedia when you can have it free
from Wikipedia. Anyone can edit it.

You can use it to look for the companies that you are interested in investing.
Some brands or products (e.g. Ronald MacDonald's Restaurant) are not listed as it is. For the above example, the company that operates the restaurant is McDonald's Corporation (NYSE: MCD).

So if you key in 'Ronald MacDonald' in the search bar, you will have this link.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_McDonald

But if you read the article carefully, there is alink that will lead you to this...

Or you could go to ‘Yahoo Finance’ to search about the stock symbols too. http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/

When you get the symbol from the list, you will get detailed stock quotes by clicking on the link of the symbol within your ‘Investment Portfolio’.

A screen will show up with detailed stock information. This will include the updated stock price and other information you will find in the financial page of a newspaper. You may use this information to help you make a buy/sell decision. Therefore, you should do your research before buying any stocks.
